The Lagos State sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) announces with deepest regret the death of Mr. Sodiq Martins a member of Nigeria Union of Journalists Lagos State branch (NUJ) and member of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria Lagos State chapter (SWAN). Sodiq Martins, a sports lover, philanthropist and a role model to many people.We at the Alpha and Omega Communications Limited Publisher of City Express News online TV and 9ja Republic general news bear witness to his goodness in SWAN Politics. He played a prominent role during Lagos state SWAN crisis. We joins Lagos State SWAN to mourn the passing away of our dear colleague, Sodiq Martins who died after a brief illness early on last two Friday ago. The Lagos SWAN said in a statement signed by the secretary, Omotunde Bello, that the demise of Sodiq Martins was a big painful loss to the Sporting community and sports Journalism family in Lagos. We mourn his demise and commiserate with his family relations, friends, colleagues and the people of Lagos Stale over this irreparable loss. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Farewell Sodiq.
