Failure of government and Nigeria Football Association (NFF) to support the Super Eagles for World Cup qualify for the America, Mexico and Canada co-host 2026 World Cup is in the state of dilemma. Super Eagles were not properly motivated to put up an effort to qualify Nigeria team. The last minutes tension and the calculations and permutations that is now trailing the Super Eagles qualification campaign to play off is no excuse for Super Eagles to miss 2026 World – Cup. The tension rocks Nigeria Football federation (NFF) as Super Eagles battle for qualification that put Nigeria in play off is now or never.Nigeria wounded Eagles are currently at the play-off position in FIFA chart table. City Express News gathered that Super Eagle are not well funded and well-coordinated during the qualifying matches and other preparatory activities. I am very sorry to say that President Bola Tinubu has not fully supported Super Eagles to qualify for world cup.The Nigeria Football Association has not come out to tell the Nation the amount of money budgeted for the qualifying series, money for friendly matches and money that will take a large contingents of Nigeria Fans to go and cheers Eagles to victory like the days of former President Goodluck Jonathan with a special funding for the Super Eagles team during 2014 World-Cup proper. Even when issue arose between the players and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on the player’s share of the participation Fee from FIFA’s former president Jonathan through the Honourable Minister of sports Dr. Tammu Danagogo, promptly responded by pre-providing what would represent the player’s entitlement even when FIFA had not released the said fund.The former President’s action was hailed as an exemplary demonstration of commitment to players’ well-being and the peace and stability of the team in national interest. It is generally agreed that the Eagles were gallantly Super flying above other team at the Brazil 2014 World Cup, an indication that the team were highly motivated during the World Cup.
The Super Eagles team gave a good fight and their performance was very commendable. The Super Eagles were really super and gallant in their performance. They fought a brave fight and gave a good account of themselves against highly rated soccer nations like Argentina and France. That great performance of the Eagles was an improvement over our outings at World Cup France 1998, Korea/Japan 2002. Nigeria Super Eagles failed to qualify and South Africa 2010.Lagos SWAN acknowledge and commended the personal commitment interest and support of former President Goodluck Jonathan and the Federal Government for the team Eagles. The current government are only interested in 2027 elections. The nations’ league in Nigeria is dead. Both the administration, management, development and progress of the league is nothing to write home about. If Nigeria Super Eagles fails to qualify for 2026 World Cup that means Nigeria government have failed. Super Eagles players are to blame because they are not committed to their games, most of the players will not be able to play next World Cup after 2026 World Cup.
